RSS and Newsreaders

I'm thinking about these questions: What do you like about RSS and newsreaders? How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your work or personal life? How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this new technology? In fact, I've had several days to think about them as I have been working through this lesson in stages, maybe it will help me to retain what I'm learning. Maybe not! I worked Sunday and had hoped to finish up week 4 but instead logged into bloglines and searched for blogs commenting on a specific topic related to Jacksonville from May 2008. I was successful at this task! I liked having an additional resource other than Google and other search engines to find what people are thinking and writing about. The URL address to my public bloglines account :
Now on to adding my comments to the weeks discovery exercise, #8 of 23. I am therefore a mere few clicks away from completing "the most difficult one of the whole 23." (I think so anyway! Er, I don't mean to say this was difficult. No, not at all! The instructions were sketchy at best. Hint: be sure to update your Blog Settings under Account in the top right corner of Bloglines, after set up and sign in. Come on, don't be shy, just go for it!)
